Born and based in Daegu, Han Aram has graduated from Yeungnam University with a Master Degree in Ceramics. She has since exhibited in South Korea, Japan and France, notably the Korea-Japan Contemporary Art Exhibition at Fukuoka Art Museum in Japan, 2009.

Known for her naturalistic approach, she challenges the notion of reality and the way of life. Her installations and sculptures presents contemplative, contradicting moments in life. Her latest series of work “Water Flows and Still Water” challenges the notion of reality and the way of life, unveiling a series of white porcelain works with splashes of paint, representing the fragility and vibrancy of one’s existence, depicting life in motion, contemplation and stagnation. Looking beyond the materialistic aspects of Aram’s work, the viewer may, perhaps, experience a quizzical sense of perturbation, but not explicitly defined nonetheless.

In lieu of depictions of time, motion and stagnation, her work can be unified by the notion precarious fragility in which the mind’s eye attempts to make sense of. The artist has left it for you to reconcile with.
