Biography
Chi Yiqi’s application of combining contrasting size of human anatomy is prominent and significant throughout his works. Chi’s sculptures convey traits of human characteristic in our present society whereby people today are always portraying a strong front but in actual a weakling, often act gusty but in actual a coward. His work shows the blend of beauty and ugliness in human nature and by sculpturing the realistic but twisted human posture and expression, Chi wants to unveil the true facade of human being today.
Almost every sculpture in this exhibition had an unbalance body structures, which symbolize the differences and unfairness in today society. If you are one of the people who are affected and feel similar about the world today, Chi’s sculptures will speak your heart.
Born in 1969 in Fujian, Chi Yiqi graduated from Fujian Sanming Institute and currently resides in Beijing Song Zhuang. He shows immense talent and potential and has participated in several group exhibitions across China.
